Introducing DAB Direct Automatic Fire Suppression Systems

We are proud to introduce our Direct Automatic Fire Suppression Systems.

DAB direct fire suppression systems utilise high-grade flexible detection tubing to detect rapidly the fire and release the extinguishing through the tubing directly from the burst hole. The system is pneumatically operated and requires no power source to activate, offering continuous fire protection.

New 125 bar Pilot Cylinder with mounting bracket

Building on our recently released 65 bar Pilot Cylinder and to compliment this existing solution, we are pleased to announce the release of a new high capacity 125 bar version, where more system capability and higher operating pressure is required.

Using the highly trusted and proven DAB Solenoid Operated Valve, both Pilot Cylinders version have been engineered to support new / existing CO2 and other fixed extinguishing systems.

The pilot cylinders are supplied with a mounting bracket that supports the weight of the cylinder while it is installed, ensuring installation is easier and safer.

Key features: 

  • 24 V dc electrical solenoid operation and remote contents monitoring, compatible with fire extinguishing system control panels
  • Available with and without mechanical manual emergency operation
  • Variants with either 65 bar or 125 bar fill
  • Pressure gauge fitted with contents monitoring pressure switch
  • Large 2 litre capacity cylinder 
  • Supplied with mounting bracket providing safe and secure installation

DAB CO2 Cylinder Valve achieves DNV GL Type Approval re-certification

The team at DAB Fire Engineering are very pleased to announce that we have successfully obtained re-certification by DNV GL for our ½’’ High Pressure CO2 Cylinder Valve.

DNV GL is the world’s leading classification society and a recognized advisor for the maritime industry. They work to enhance safety, quality, energy efficiency and environmental performance of the global shipping industry across all vessel types and offshore structures.

The DAB Cylinder Valve complies with DNV GL rules for classification – Ships Pt.4 Ch.6 Piping Systems & DNV GL Class Programme DNVGL-CP-0186 – Type approval: Valves, and is therefore accepted for installation on vessels classed by DNV GL.

The well-established, time proven valve has been widely used throughout the global marine market for several decades due to its reliability through robust construction and application versatility.

DAB to showcase latest products at FIM Expo 2019

8th March 2019

Next month, DAB will be heading to the Madejski Stadium in Reading to exhibit at the FIM Expo 2019. The event, organised by the Fire Industry Association (FIA), will take place on the 3rd April and will bring together many of the UK’s leading fire protection specialists.

Mark Mushrow and Clark Priestley will be at DAB stand during the event to discuss how DAB can help with your fire protection projects. Come along to have a chat with them and see the latest developments from DAB, including our newly introduced Pilot Cylinder and Odouriser, alongside our cylinder valves and the full range of gaseous system components.

Clark Priestley re-elected to the FIA Extinguishing Council

The Fire Industry Association (FIA) held its Annual General Meeting on Wednesday, at which the holders of elected posts are confirmed. We are pleased to confirm that Clark Priestley, DAB Fire Engineering Technical and Production Manager, has been re-elected to the FIA Extinguishing Council for his fourth consecutive two-year term. The work of the FIA Councils ensures that appropriate FIA Working Groups are tasked with the work where contributions to British, European, or International Standards, or UK related FIA Guidance Notes, are required. For FIA publications, the relevant FIA Council is then responsible for final review and authorisation for publication of FIA documents. This work is for the benefit of the UK Fire Industry as a whole. On behalf of everyone at DAB Fire Engineering, we’d like to congratulate Clark for his re-election and wish him another fruitful two-year term at the FIA Extinguishing Council.
